MHI Secures Centrifugal Compressor Order

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has won an order for two centrifugal compressors
for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal project in Southeast Asia, the
company announced Wednesday via its official website in both Japanese and English.
Designed for boil-off gas (BOG) compression, the units will operate at a pressure rating
of 12 MPa, a critical specification for efficient LNG terminal operations. BOG compression
is essential for reliquefying evaporated LNG, reducing waste and enhancing the project's
overall energy efficiency.
The compressors belong to MHI's proven MAC (Mitsubishi Advanced Compressor) series,
known for high efficiency, reliability, and adaptability to extreme conditions. Engineered
for continuous, stable operation in harsh environments, they align with the stringent
performance and safety standards required for large-scale LNG infrastructure.
This order reinforces MHI's strong position in the global LNG equipment market,
particularly in Southeast Asia—a region experiencing robust growth in natural gas
demand and LNG infrastructure development. The company will leverage its extensive
expertise inturbomachinery to deliver the units on schedule, supporting the project's
goal of expanding clean energy supply in the region.
